Twas the Night Before Christmas…

Twas the night before Christmas, when through the Senate and House
Not a constituent was represented, not even a mouse.
The provisions were added to the fine print with care,
In hopes that the voters would never look there.

Obama was nestled all snug in his bed
While visions of a Socialist society danced in his head.
With Michele in her designer ‘kerchief, and Barrack in his cap,
The White House settled down for a two week Hawaiian winters nap.

When on the steps of the Senate there arose such a clatter,
Harry Reid sprang from his seat to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtain, and got help lifting the sash.

The moon on the steps, covered with new fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to the Senators below.
When, what to Reid’s incredulous eyes should appear
But a Republican committee strategerizing with out fear.

With a man from Connecticut, grinning and shaking hands
Reid in a moment knew it was Joe Lieberman.
More rapid than payoffs and kickbacks they came
Mitch McConnell whistled and shouted and called them by name.

Now Kyl, Now, Brownback! Now, Bunning and Cornyn!
On, Graham!, On, Hutchinson, On, Grassley and Ensign!
To the top of the steps, to the floor of the hall
Now dash healthcare! Dash healthcare! Dash Healthcare reforms all!

As dry pages that before the people sit unread and heavily veiled,
When they meet with an Administration that is too big to fail.
So up to the houses theses Senators flew,
With a handful of votes and a mandate too.

But then in a twinkling, Reid decided to deal,
He’d do what it took; he would lie, cheat and steal.
As he turned to the floor, and was turning around,
Lieberman and his caucus came in with a bound.

He was dressed to the nines, from his head to his foot,
With dollar signs in his eyes, and Brooks Brother’s Suit.
A bundle of line items he had in the pocket of his pants,
Provisions, Medicare expansion, and millions in grants.

His eyes how they twinkled! His dimples so merry!
His cheeks like Chris Dodd’s were gin blossomed like a cherry.
His drooping crooked mouth, hung low like a hound,
His vote was for sale, he didn’t need to make a sound.

The grin on Reid’s face shown old yellow teeth
The yes votes and dollar signs encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a frail, gaunt face, and bent crooked back,
He would force healthcare reform through despite the Republican attack.

Senator Nelson, held out until the deal went through,
Senator Sanders, Dodd, Leahy and Levin all got in line too.
With a wink of his eye, and a nod of his head,
Reid knew he had the votes, the filibuster was dead.

He spoke not a word, but went right to his work,
And paid off the Senators, like a heartless old jerk.
And laying a finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, the deficit rose.

He sprang to his feet, when the quorum was called,
He voted “no” by mistake, but his vote was recalled.
And we heard him exclaim, through the laughs and thrill,
“Yes,” healthcare for all no matter the size of the bill!

The Blame-Game is Getting Old

The “Chosen One” President Barrack Hussein Obama is failing miserably as president of the United States. He ran on a platform of “Change” but he and the Democrats are playing the same old games and even inventing some new ones.

We have bailed out Wall Street, and awarded several key positions in the Administration to Wall Street wonks who helped to orchestrate the financial collapse we are currently bogged down in. We have bailed out the auto industry and created a Government run auto company, GM – once General Motors, now Government Motors.

We have subsidized the sales of GM products through a program called “Cash for Clunkers”, which lasted for about a month, has left dozens of the few remaining dealerships with huge debts for rebates due to lack of payment from the Government. In addition the non-profit sector, which for the last few years has found a cash cow in the donation of vehicles as tax deductible donations, is getting hurt because people would rather turn in their “clunker” for a hand out from their own pocket… because it is taxes that pay for the so called rebates, instead of donating the car to an organization that actually does some good.

Obama has taken every opportunity for his and the Democratic run congress’s failures, to blame his predecessor George W. Bush and the Republican party. Even today he is blaming the Republicans for a “vast right wing conspiracy” to bring down his “Obamacare” health reform. We have heard these accusations of a ‘VRWC” before, from the current Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton. She blamed the Republicans of the same thing, but it turned out to be a “vast” girl in a blue dress that performed the flag salute in the Oval Office. We never did hear if she was from the right or the left, only that she didn’t have a dry cleaner.

Here is Obama in his own words: “”I think early on, a decision was made by the Republican leadership that said, ‘Look, let’s not give him a victory, maybe we can have a replay of 1993, ’94, when Clinton came in, he failed on health care and then we won in the mid-term elections and we got the majority.”

It is possible that the Republican leadership said this, but the problem with his argument is that the Republican leadership has no power. They couldn’t stop anything in the either house of Congress, even if they wanted to. What Obama and his Democratic Congress, are afraid of is the reality that the people of this country actually care. They are scared that people have decided to actually read what is in the Health Bill, and that we the people don’t like it. But, and even deeper felt fear comes from the fact that many of these Democratic lifers, fear for the safety of their seats of power.

The Democratic Party has created a Frankenstein monster called HR3200 and it is turning on its creator. The Democrats could simply force the bill through, without any compromise, and get the imprimatur from Obama and there is nothing we the people or the Republican Party can do about it.

If the plan is so good for the country, and we the people are just too dumb to get it, why doesn’t Obama part the seas and lead us all to the promise land of government run health care? Could it be that the plan is flawed, or is it merely that the Democrats have finally got the White House and Congress, and have in less than a year screwed up so badly that they know their days of power are numbered?

I think it is probably both.
