Obama greater than Jesus

THIS IS FOR REAL, FROM A THE DANISH NEWSPAPER POLITIKEN

He is provocative in insisting on an outstretched hand, where others only see animosity.

His tangible results in the short time that he has been active – are few and far between. His greatest results have been created with words and speeches – words that remain in the consciousness of their audience and have long-term effects.

He comes from humble beginnings and defends the weak and vulnerable, because he can identify himself with their conditions.

And no we are not thinking of Jesus Christ, whose birthday has just been celebrated – – but rather the President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama.

For some time now, comparisons between the two have been a tool of cynical opinion that quickly became fatigued of the rapture that Obama instilled prior to and after the presidential election last year.

From the start, Obama’s critics have claimed that his supporters have idolised him as a saviour, thus attempting to dismantle the concrete hope that Obama has represented for most Americans.

The idea was naturally that the comparison between Jesus and Obama – which is something that the critics developed themselves – would be comical, blasphemous, or both.

If such a comparison were to be made, it would, of course, inevitably be to Obama’s advantage.

Today, his historic Health Reform is being passed through the American Senate – a welfare policy breakthrough that several of his predecessors have been unable to manage.

Despite all the compromises, it has finally been possible to ensure something so fundamental, as the right of every American not to be financially shipwrecked when their health fails them. Add to that the biggest ever financial support package in America’s history, a major disarmament agreement and the quickest-ever re-establishment of American reputation.

On the other hand, we have Jesus’ miracles that everyone still remembers, but which only benefitted a few. At the same time, we have the wonderful parables about his life and deeds that we know from the New Testament, but which have been interpreted so differently over the past 2000 years that it is impossible to give an unequivocal result of his work.

Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus – if we have to play that absurd Christmas game. But it is probably more meaningful to insist that with today’s domestic triumph, that he has already assured himself a place in the history books – a space he has good chances of expanding considerably in coming years.

Without, however, ever attaining the heavens….

Will Media Challenge Obama’s False Claim of Creating 150,000 Jobs?

By John Stephenson
April 30, 2009

At the recent media celebration of Barack Obama’s first 100 days as President, Barack Obama made the bold claim that he created or saved over 150,000 jobs.
This budget builds on the steps we’ve taken over the last 100 days to move this economy from recession to recovery and ultimately to prosperity.
We began by passing a Recovery Act that has already saved or created over 150,000 jobs and provided a tax cut to 95 percent of all working families.Source

This would be wonderful news, if it were true.  Unfortunately, no one seems to be able to figure out where he got these numbers from.  They just don’t seem to add up to the facts.
So where do they get away with a number like that?

Actually, I thought this was easy. The administration has claimed that ARRA (“the stimulus bill”) will “save or create” 3.3 million jobs in 2 years. So I thought perhaps what they were doing was taking the date of signing, Feb. 17, computing how much of two years had passed (71/730 ~= 9.7%) and … well, that doesn’t work, because on a pro-rated basis they would get to claim 321,000 jobs.

I thought then maybe he had specific numbers. I recall him saying that he was told Caterpillar would call back the 20,000 in layoffs it had originally called for. But that doesn’t work out either, because Caterpillar is still laying off. Initial filings for unemployment insurance have risen through the first 100 days, though today’s number is a hopeful step downward.
Of course, no one will ever know the difference. The media wouldn’t dare challenge Obama with any difficult follow-up questions.  Not one reporter asked president Obama to corroborate this claim.

His First 100

Not surprisingly President Obama looks back through partisan glasses while claiming to be the leader of the non-partisan movement. He seems, much like all of his supporters, including all of the mainstream media to blame the woes of “His first 100” on George W. Bush. That ain’t new.

George W. Bush and the Republican party are going to be the scape-goat for most of the Obama presidency. It won’t last though. Even the “head in the bowl” kool-aid drinks will have to come up for air after a few years. and when they do. No amount of “Change,” rhetoric, empty promises, smiling faces, and lame jokes will change that fact that inflation is sweeping the nation, America is weaker as a world power, the stock market is a hibernating bear, unemployment is at record levels, and our wallets are empty because with out production the only way to pay for His agenda is to take it from the rich.

Very soon we all be considered “Rich” despite the fact that a great many of us will find ourselves in the grips of poverty.

A Vaster Right Wing Conspiracy…

I never believed the notion that a “vast right wing conspiracy” to topple the Clinton’s and the Democratic Party existed, but now I do… It is not just talk radio, and Fox News… it has managed to creep in like a virus to my computer.

I was writing an email to a colleague, part of an on going political dialogue that we have been engaged in for years, and in the line of opinion and discourse we were discussing the merits of Barrack Obama.

When my thoughts were completed, I hit the send button, and my email client went through the usual spell checking routine. I have this set to run automatically, as I am one of the worst typists on the planet, if not the worst. I have to look at the keyboard, use two fingers and I still manage to mistype a large number of words.

As the spell check ran it caught the usual errors, “id” instead of “is,” “predisent” instead of “president,” and then it came across something interesting and provocative. Although I had spelled “Obama,” correctly it asked me if I wanted to replace it with “Osama.”

Was this for real? How could “Osama” be a valid word and “Obama” not be? I have the most recent updates, drivers and patches… What could be causing this? I have searched high and low for an answer and have found nothing to explain this… therefore; I can only reach one conclusion. It’s the VRWC virus. It has entered my computer, infiltrated my office and altered all of my programs. I checked every application with spell check routines, and they all came back the same: Obama = Osama.

When will it end? How low will the Right go to tarnish the reputation of the illustrious, chosen one? Why haven’t the “main stream media” picked up on this… could it be technology media bias? They have covered every other minute of “His” campaign, why not this.

Or have the Right wingers managed a subliminal covert operation so ingenious that the ‘Mainstream media” professionals have not even picked up on it. It’s curious to think that when we as citizens enter the voting booths in November, might we look at the screen of the electronic voting machine, or the punch ballot, and in the back of our minds see the red line and the word Osama, hesitate, feel the sweat break on our foreheads and look for the name McCain.
