A year and several days into the era of Hope and Change and we find ourselves still hoping for the real change that the chosen one, Obama promised in his meteoric rise from obscurity to the office of President of the United States. We were told that the new administration would be one of openness, transparency, inclusion, and participation. The doors would be open, the debates would be televised, and everything would be for the people, by the people. So far the people have been left out of the great new equation.
The debates have not been televised, the openness has been closed. Despite the screaming voices of the people in opposition to their plans, the administration and the Congress have moved ahead with their agendas; bail-outs, stimulus, corporate takeovers, cap-and-trade, climate change, global warming, socialized medicine, earmarks and pork projects.
The unemployment rate is at an all time high, being reported at around 10%. Of course, the sate controlled media isn’t telling the whole truth. When you factor in people that have given up Hope and stopped trying to find jobs, and you take into consideration the under-employed, those are the professional who have opted for working below their pay-grade, so they can keep off the Obama-Teat; the engineer that is making your “Five Dollar Foot long”, or the banker that is bagging your groceries. If the media would take these factors into account when reporting the “news,” the true unemployment figures would be closer to 18%, and not below 10%.
To combat the increasing number of unemployed Congress has developed a plan that even the state controlled media had to admit will do very little to accomplish job creation or growth; “the Obama administration acknowledges the legislation’s centerpiece — a tax cut for businesses that hire unemployed workers — would work only on the margins.”
Obama is leading as though he is still on the campaign trail: A new sound bite each day, a new empty promise. Obama has spent much of the last year bashing the banking industry, painting the executives as Wall Street, money hungry, elite, monsters that care only about big bonuses and not about the little man, the customer, Main Street. But, last week here is what Obama had to say about the $9 million bonus Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein will be paid and the $17 million bonus JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon will receive: “There are some baseball players who are making more than that and don’t get to the World Series either, so I’m shocked by that as well….I know both those guys; they are very savvy businessmen,” Obama said. “I, like most of the American people, don’t begrudge people success or wealth. That is part of the free-market system.”
I am confused here…
I thought the Administration was leading the charge on limits being placed on executive bonuses? The way Obama walks the fence is amazing. He is the Karl Wallenda of the Oval Office. He manages to walk the fence, never falling to one side or the other. He cannot do this for long, because the wind is a tightrope walkers worst enemy, and the winds of change can be quite strong.
This last week the Congress and Obama had more trouble getting together, not from any philosophical impasse, but from the physical impasse of snow. The nation’s capital was buried in several feet of snow. A historic blizzard hit the country, dropping snow into 49 of the 50 United States for the first time ever. In spite of the white out of the White House, the Administration, the state controlled media, and the left-wing environment-terrorists have doubled down on the joke of Global Warming. Despite the fact that almost every claim that the conspiracy of Global Warming has been built on has been proven by the Climate Gate email scandal to the admission of the East Anglia geniuses, to be completely false at worst and based on junk-science at best. But, Obama and his administration still proclaim that global warming is a fact, and that we need to institute cap-and-trade and other disruptive, costly and destructive ways to stop the “inconvenient truth” of global warming. Speak of inconvenient truths where in the world is Al “Carbon Footprint” Gore?
How long the Obam-scam go on? I never thought the Hope and Change Express would get derailed so quickly, but the wheels on this bus are falling off. Democrats from snow covered sates all over the U.S. are pulling the cord, telling Obama that they want to get off at the next stop. Kennedy, Bayh, Dodd, Dorgan, etc… This is truly amazing, and very telling. It speaks volumes about where the Democratic Party has been driven with Barrack Hussein Obama and his Chicago cronies at the wheel. The Democratic Party has the Senate, the House and the White House, and can conceivably accomplish just about anything they want, regardless of the people or the Republicans, but these politicians would rather quit than fight to stay in their seats of power.
Are they embarrassed at the thought of losing? It cannot be that. I don’t think someone like Chris Dodd is capable of being embarrassed, you have to have some sense of right and wrong, some amount of humility and humanity to feel embarrassment. I don’t think there is a single Democrat that has these qualities, at least not any currently seated in Washington.
Perhaps, they have just seen the future, or lack thereof in following Obama. They got behind a rising star, which has gone super-nova and is burning out after just one year in office. Obama swindled the Democratic Party and the mindless masses that voted for him. He smooth-talked his way into office with sound bites and slogans and now he finds himself a boy at the desk of a man. The Obama team thought it would be easy, thought they would just do whatever they wanted and the cows of the party and the public would follow, but nothing is that easy.
If it were, the wars would be over, Gitmo would be closed, the deficit would be reduced, the dollar would be strong, the country would be safe, Joe Biden would shut up, Al Qaeda would be gone, and the great swindle that Global Warming is would be tossed aside like so much tripe.
